Napping update

So, I guess it has been about three weeks since I wrote about C starting to take naps but only a few hours since I published that post, oops. Well, here is an update...
C is now 7 1/2 months old and for the past three weeks he has been taking 2-3 naps a day. Now, sometimes the naps are long ones and other times they are short. Sometimes we take a nap together which is my favorite and sometimes he sleeps in his crib. Sometimes he falls asleep on his own and other times he is nursed to sleep. Right now it doesn't matter to me how C falls asleep or for how long he is asleep for, all that matters to me is that he takes a nap because no naps or a missed nap equal one crabby baby. I am so proud of my little boy!! And now that he is taking naps, I hope to get back to blogging and finishing some projects.

New Adventures and Consistency (?)

I have no idea what happened to this post but I guess you find out things when you neglect your blog for a few weeks.  Oops!!  Here is a post I wrote a few weeks back that I thought was published...

For the past two weeks the weather here was perfect!  We were having summer weather in winter!  It was 80 degrees in Chicago in March.  Strange, huh?!  However, I wasn't complaining one bit.  I was loving the warm weather.  Right now, we are back to spring temperatures.  Seeing the grass turn green, the flowers bloom, the trees bud, and wearing summer clothes, certainly makes me want summer to come even faster.  That streak of warm weather was a tease for what is to come in a few months.
C and I spent a lot of time outside during these two weeks.  C experienced many new adventures for the first time...
  • going to the zoo
  • swinging in a baby swing
  • sitting in the grass
  • wearing shorts
  • playing outside
  • having a picnic in the park

We had a blast!!!  We are looking forward to more warm days and spending time outside.  I can't wait to go to the beach, have C sit in a baby pool and splash around, go to the zoo and for our big vacation to Florida to see Nana and Poppy (my parents).

Now, here we are at the end of March and C is almost 7 months old.  7 months, gosh!  That is crazy!  And we have struggled with naps since day one (see post here).  But, guess what, today C is on nap number 2!!!  C's first nap was two hours long!  I did not know what to do with myself.  I showered, folded diapers, washed the dishes, wrapped some birthday and Easter presents for my niece and nephew, and C was still sleeping.  Unbelievable!  I caught myself wandering around the house wondering, what am I going to do?  So, I laid down and within 10 minutes, C woke up.  Now it is 1:30 and C is sleeping again.  He has been sleeping for about an hour and half!  I am starting to wonder, if my consistency has finally paid off or does he finally get what he is supposed to do in the crib? Or is his new glow seahorse the magic trick?  We will see what happens tomorrow and if C continues this nap routine.
